rules are meant to be broken.... Or at least periodically changed by the demands of society. It's a valid quote though society cannot function without rules hence if there were no rules then there wouldn't be anything to obey or break them

minds are prior to rules. without minds what we think of a rules are simply general trends... all the "rules" we have observed that govern the physical behavior of objects could well be wrong. purely physical mechanisms don't run on these rules, we create the rules to understand how these mechanisms work. perhaps regularities will always exist... such as the behavior of gravity or of forces in atoms or something... but these are not rules, they are patterns of behavior. the concept of "rule" implies that it is being imposed somehow from the outside, and this is not so.
