You're right. And it is sad that in the past 10 years we've not had a competent President in office. Clinton was a sleazebag, but at least the country was better off than it is now. I won't say I disagree with everything Obama has done, but I'm starting to realize that this two party system doesn't work. It's doing nothing but tearing the country apart.

Statistically, the more capitalist a country is, the wealthier and the higher it's citizens' standard of living. Most Americans view socialism and communism as tyrannical systems, because while you can opt-out of corporations' control, you cannot opt-out of government control. It is also contrary to America's undercurrent individualist culture and ethic of self-fulfillment and personal pride.

Also, socialism is not a radical system or world view. Globally, the American revolution is yet the greatest radical stance -- against a long oppressive history of self-righeous collectivism and conformism, and instead spearheading individualism.

Pissing people off is a childish (and possibly even sociopathic) motive, and merely a superficial "rebellion." Comprehensive rebellion is inherently individualist. If you could peer into the minds of those you seek to merely annoy, I assert that you would find they merely look upon you with pity.

Next, I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my ability.

I chose to pursue this 'futile endeavor' not to claim victim, but to show my disgust with the current party in power. While I may not agree with everything socialists stand for, I'm in 100% agreement with their Human rights stance. I believe in equality regardless of age, sex, race, or sexual orientation. While many Democrats hold those beliefs, our President doesn't. I feel he does not support gay marriage enough to stand against the bigots. He chooses a safe platform in an attempt to appear neutral.

I guess you could ask the 35.9 million Americans living below the poverty line their feelings on that. You say most Americans view socialism and communism as tyrannical systems. I'm not sure what you mean by 'most', but if you mean the people who are getting their news from any of the mainstream sources (and yes, that includes Fox news), then you're probably right. In that same sentence, we could also add that "Most Americans are ignorant". It's human nature to fear that which we don't understand. How many people do you think actually understand what socialism is? How many people do you think ever even heard of socialism until Rush Limbaugh (promptly followed by every other conservative mouthpiece on the air)decided to start tossing it out as an insult to Democrats? My guess is not many.

You say that socialism isn't a radical system, and you'd be right if referring to systems of the world. But in America, it IS considered one of the most radical stances. Why? Well, you cover that in your next paragraph. Rebellion. Yes, it may seem childish to you to rebel, and/or piss people off. That might just be because you (and I'm only speculating here) subscribe to the same belief that most Americans subscribe to; There are only two choices - With us, or against us. I think it's probably easier for most people to go along with what is presented as our only options. I'm sure rebellion holds no significance in this nations history, either.

I'm not sure what your attempt on your final sentence of people looking upon me with pity was, but I assure you that if I could in fact peer into the minds of those individuals, I would see nothing more than a couple of marbles rolling around.

As an individualist I respect the judgment of the individual, especially as to their individual values, including to where they find valuable sources of information.

I militantly stand for going against the odds and being outspoken, challenging and rebelling against the status quo. But that's why I'm an individualist capitalist, as the alternative would be superficial, and even comprehensively hypocritical, "rebellion."

Again, comprehensive rebellion is opposite to collectivism, conformism, and communism or socialism.

Also, I don't lump ideologies that may or may not overlap. As I imagine you well know but may eschew, you don't have to be a socialist to support equal justice. In fact, NOTHING TAKES AWAY EQUAL OPPORTUNITY MORE THAN COMPELLED EQUAL OUTCOMES!!!!!
