We've had a lot of discussion here on Floort about taxes, the wealthy and maintaining a country where the path from rags to riches exists. The conservatives say let all rich people get richer, even at the expense of the poor. The liberals say make sure that poor people aren't poor. But somewhere in the middle is a happy medium. We all want prosperity but when it comes at the expense of the masses, then the country loses. This interesting article is a bit leftist, but note the facts they claim about what percentage the wealthy control.

Interesting topic.

What do you think? Should the wealthy just own everything? Should the government?

Bottom line - you will never obtain a good job from a 'poor' person.

It is your choice to be poor in most cases.

Capitalism is what has made this country great, not socialism, not the government.

"The United States of America—five percent of the world’s population—leads the world economically, militarily, scientifically, and culturally—and by a spectacular margin. Any one of these achievements, taken alone, would be cause for enormous pride. To dominate as we do in all four arenas has no historical precedent. That we have achieved so much in so many areas is due—due entirely—to the structure of our society (Capitalism) as outlined in the Constitution of the United States.” ~~ Bill Whittle
