GM is paying back its loans - way to go Obama!

Obama's plan to bail out car companies has worked fantastically, First there was cash for clunkers, Ford didn't even need bailout money and now GM is paying back $8.1B in bailout funds. Stimulus DOES work and the Democrat's plan to save the country from the nearly complete financial collapse left by Republicans is working well.

Just goes to show that whining doesn't solve problems. Solutions do.

ROFLMAO! Tigger, you are funny! Trying to make everything Barry does look good. How about the REST OF THE STORY:

General Motors announced this week that it has repaid $8.1 billion in loans it received from the U.S. and Canadian governments. Of course, this is a small part of the total bailout the bankrupt auto giant received from TARP funds, which were authorized for banks, not automakers. GM received $52 billion from the U.S., $6.7 billion of which was considered as a loan, and $9.5 billion from Canada, $1.4 billion of which was a loan.

According to the Associated Press, "GM still owes $45.3 billion to the U.S. and $8.1 billion to Canada, money it received in exchange for large stakes in the company. The U.S. government now owns 61 percent of the company and Canada owns roughly 12 percent. GM plans to repay both with a public stock offering, perhaps later this year." What, selling stock instead of selling cars? Also little noticed, of course, is the fact that GM was able to repay part of what it owes because it has cut 65,000 jobs and the pensions that go with them. Some stimulus.
