Conservatives and Liberals view

I don't agree. To assume that we do everything best is presumptuous. Healthcare is one area where other modern countries have us beat. That doesn't make their country better. And what, in your terms, does 'better' mean? Richer? Stronger? More compassionate? Less percentage of poor people? Higher average level of education?

What "modern country" has us beat? tell me were this utopia of socialized medicine is so maybe i can go there and be healed. You dolt. everybody in the friggin' world comes here because they damn well know we got the best r&d and if we can't fix it no one can.

You're mixing quality of doctors with quality of system. Rich people come here because if you have enough money, you can get great care here. No one is saying that the medical care they receive is bad. In fact, there is nothing in Obama plan that even addresses the quality of the care given. But then you wouldn't know that since you just repeat what your hate leaders tell you to repeat.

ok, so what you are saying is we got good doctors, bad system. the rest of the "modern" world has a good system but bad doctors. i do not see people flocking to any other country for healthcare. so what i deduce from this is that if you force a "good" system you wind up with bad doctors. i guess that is what liberals want.

Gee RW, maybe, just maybe since you keep claiming that we are the best country in the world we can have both? What good are a ton of good doctors with 30 million people who can't afford to go to them? Those people end up a bigger burden on society.

Not even worthy of a reply RW. Keep living in the dark ages if you like. A short story. My daughter just had her tonsils out. The insurance company decided they could save money by sending her to a clinic, rather than a hospital. Why? At clinics I have to bear an additional $1600 of the burden beyond the deductible. Why? So the insurance could make a greater profit. Even though I pay my premiums on time and always have. They make medical choices for profit, not the welfare of the individual. That is what is wrong with our healthcare system.

What you need to do is think about someone else but yourself for a change. What if you had no job and no money right now. How would you pay for needed healthcare?

i would give up my satellite tv, drug habits, cigs, booze, expensive car payments, etc. but you want your darling obama making your healthcare choices on the basis of contribution to society. i guess that is much better. to sacrfice for the greater good.

What if you were already so poor you didn't have those things?
