Let the Rich Actresses Pay with CA$H

I'm going to go against the grain here. I say when a Celebutante gets busted for something simple, like driving on a suspended license, let them buy their way out with cash. If we put them in jail, it costs us (taxpayers) money. But let's say that some bimbo, Lindsay Lohan for example, is willing to pay, say $2 Million to stay out of jail. Wouldn't society be better off with that money to help with city services, homeless shelters and the like?

If they actually hurt someone, that's a different story. But for crimes of stupidity, I say let 'em pay with cash!

Your argument minimizes the value of every normal person's time. If I do something stupid that causes me to be incarcerated for say 6 months, I lose myfreedom and wage earning capacity for that time. However if the same thing happens to a celebrity and they were given the option to pay their time in cash, they are relatively unaffected.

Good point. But we're not talking about a fair system. We're talking about a system that does the community the most good. I gain nothing from Paris being in Jail -- independently of what might happen to me. But my community could benefit from, say, $2M.

Hit them where it hurts - in the pocketbook with stiff, stiff fines for the offense, court fines, and all the rest that goes with it!

I agree the money could defiently be used in society But on the other hand just because your rich that means you can break the rules and just pay. Not fair

Same rules for all.
