I can't respect the opinions of people without basic civility

You just don;t get it Michael. She said there is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion. It is whining and yelling and screaming that is childish. Almost as childish as sending in disruptors with the sole purpose of causing a rukus. Sure it is their right to do so. But as Beth says, they look like foolish little children and they are not helping the cause.

Using your "logic", you'd see someone being beaten to death right in front of you and you'd politely ask him to stop instead of wading in and getting yourself mussed up a bit. Civility is fine in it's place, but when a bunch of morons have seized power and our using the entire power of the government to destroy what has gone before, well....you can stuff your "civility". Civility on the part of conservatives is exactly what has allowed such lunacy to take place while liberals have jammed their crap down every-one's throat. Why do you suppose the whole country is in an uproar over this clown and his anti-America campaign?

If someone is being beaten to death, Michael, go ahead and stop the perpetrator however you can. This is hardly the case - it's an important and serious public debate. Serious debate requires serious participation, not childish rage.

Would there ever have been an America if the only tool available to the oppressed in England was "serious debate"? We are way past the point of pleasant cool discussion. The country is being destroyed and I stand by my analogy, when someone is being beaten to death you have to "stop him any way you can", when someone is destroying the entire Constitution and 250 years of history why should the response be any different?

People on the right don't tend to like things when it doesn't go their way. It's an awful shame too.

Actually, what I know about American government, the people elect their candidate of choice(electoral college usually, I think)and that elected official passes along the people's demands to a higher office of government, until it reaches Congress. So in turn, the government is FOR the people, BY the people. Not run by the people.

And as you say, "jamming crap through so fast no one has time to understand it or approve it", this debate has been going on since March, Aprilish. So five months now. Five months seems PLENTY, of time to fully understand what is going on with health care. Unless of course, those five months have included a certain news organization.

Michael, if Obama had the ability to "jam his ignorant crap" into our throats, err., the healthcare bill would have passed already. Heck... there wouldn't even be a debate. We all know what he wants. And we don't know if we - we, the ones who want the same thing - will get it. That's just the way it should be ... that's why we have a constitution. The fact you don't agree with the current government doesn't make it unconstitutional, does it?

Come on now. That's NOT "how it's supposed to be". It's supposed to be thoroughly aired and debated not forced through without any of the people voting on it having had time to read it much less get approval from the people they were elected to represent. This is a disgusting effort by a sob that is determined to have it his way by hook or by chicago crook. The reason it hasn't passed "already" is that even some liberals can't stand the stench that is coming off this whole operation. It's outrageous. Remember when that guy said he was going to post every one of his proposals on the internet for people to consider before a vote was taken? What, you don't expect him to keep that promise? Who the hell does he think he is?
