White people are the bane of human existence

I can't help but feel sorry that black people (or the other 'colored' people of the world) must live on this globe with white people. It seems that everywhere white people have gone white people have wrought dismay and hardship among those who have treated them as friends.

Blacks, in particular, have suffered the most. Before white people they lived relatively simple lives in a beautiful country. A land so beautiful and ancient that even the white settlers could not deny it's beauty. However, after meeting white people their lives and communities declined. Now they suffer and starve. The interplay of white culture and the rest of the world has had an unreversably negotive outcome for 3/4 the worlds pop.

So many have suffered at the hands of white people and their progress that one cannot help but think white people are God's punishment upon us all.

We must have done something but for god to punished us right?
That's a good argument IF you can actually proof the relation between the color of the skin and madness. I personally believe the other way arround. Whites went to Africa to buy slaves.... To whom?.... To the king!... But the king was black! So I guess your theory doesn't really make sence....
Like I said I believe that is power and health that corrupt any person and society (Hitler for example). It doesn't matter the color of your skin, when power goes to your head then is when everything starts. Look at Hitler osama or any neocon outthere, or look at southafrica south Asia or Castro and Chavez in Venezuela. They think they have the right to imppose on the rest.
I know I'm gonna get call a socialist but I think is power and money that main cause of pain in the world

Actually, it was blacks who sold other blacks into slavery.

All over the world people of all colors have waged war against their rivals, tribes or what have you, color didn't matter. Some practiced cannibalism and sacrificial practices long before they met whites.

It was not the act of slavery which was the problem. It was the white mans implementation of slavery which was the wrong. Slavery existed all over the world, but white people legalized and denied the very humanity of a people, and then institued various policies to purposely stunt their growth.
Slaves could not read or write.

Even to this day the media avoids the displaying the basic humanity of blacks and other cultures around the world as a means to make others seem some how strange and crazy.

I should also add, that not every white person participated in the slave trade. There were those who believed it was wrong. However, the dehumanization of blacks and other cultures was so intwined with in white culture as to make the slavery brought about by whites the most vile the world has ever seen. Even jews were treated better by the egyptians. they were allowed to maintain there culture and identity.

also this is not just about slavery. I often find myself thinking about the other cultures which came into contact with whites. Very rarely, if at all, did anything positive come from the meeting. In fact, even when those cultures responded positively toward white people, they found themselves years later struggling for survival. the most well-known culture would of course be the native american culture and the trail of tears, but the list is endless.

There is something specifically evil about killing off people who have done nothing to you, which is what occured in both the trail of tears and the tuskegee experiment. I cannot think of any other culture on the planet which accepts kindness from those around them only to stab those in the back who have shown them such kindness and cooperation.

There is such thing as being racist towards white people too. It seems like we get crap for slavery but none of us can change the past. It's not my fault hundreds of years ago bad things happened. That doesn't make white people the problem. Maybe the problem is that people can't let it go.

Wow, I'm not sure how such an ignorant insane blatantly racist Floort made it past the censor. I wonder how far I'd get if I hypothesized that blacks are the main cause of violence in America, or that Mexicans are rapidly bringing the average IQ of Americans down.

Every where in the world where the people of color mentioned by crabapple live, grow and exist, one finds massive poverty, massive disease and massive class ignorance with little or no modern advancement.

Without the white people crucified by this ignorant author, there would be no medicine, no science, no modern society and no ability to achieve the highest standard of living ever experienced by mankind.

I can't believe this guy believes what he wrote.

Being critical is not being racist. I was simply looking at the history.

The issue is not simply a black and white one. As I said before, there were other cultures that have been negitively affected such as the native Americans and native mexicans. If the only negitive impact of white culture was slavery, I'd consider it a blessing (by the way I'm not black and I find it odd that when critizing white culture I receive several comments about slavery and accusations of being a racist).

Also story of dafur is a continuing one, MQ should read more about the reconcilation efforts taking place there. Also durfur was a war not a 300-400 year oppression of a group of people.

to all those who read this,

What inspired my comment was the review of American and Western European history and the constant oppression and brutalization of a group of people who did no harm to another group of people (And no most other occurances of such violence were not done under the guise of friendship, if you believe so, pls place your examples on this post.) I understand that countries fight other countries, I understand black people sold black people into slavery, I understand that people all over the world kill other people.

But that is not why i made the above floort. The above floort comes from the sense that white people- especially American white people- tend to gloss over the contributions of America black people to this country. By attempting to forget the darker aspects of themselves they cause the good which came from those things to be forgotten. American slavery, the trail of tears, the tuskgee experiment , etc... were really horrific events. No one on this board seems to simply acknowledge that. all of you just want people to forget because you want to forget. But by doing so, you don't realize that slavery is not the end of a story, but the beginning of one.

The struggle against slavery was not a black against white struggle, It was a struggle of right against wrong. Something everyone in this country should be proud of and remember because it was the true beginning of the America we have all come to know. Black and white people fought for what was right and succeeded. Why would you want people to just forget that? It's really sad that the black people who fought for this america are treated as though they contributed nothing to this country, when they were the very cataylst for the American we have all come to know and love. that is why black people, african-americans, have suffered the most. They live in a country in which they are never acknowledged as being a central part of it's development.

Moronic! You forgot to answer the illustration I already gave you. Why are blacks all over the globe killing other blacks? All over Africa, and all over the United States in every big city. What the hell does that have to do with Whites?? So why do you hedge when it comes to revealing your color? I'm proud of my color. What about you? What a goof!

The Tuskegee University, a black institute (correct me if I'm wrong and that's more than a few blacks), should have had the integrity and ethics to say no or stop the treatment these men received. They knew what they were getting into and are as culpable as any other party involved in the deception perpetrated on these unknowing victims, regardless of race. What's even worse the victims were deceived by their own. This is history and all we can do is learn and hope we don't allow these horrible acts to occur in our life time. I was pointing out horrible things happen to more than blacks and sometimes committed by our own.
http://www.tuskegee.edu/Global/Story.asp?s=1207598
In the beginning stages of the project, the PHS enlisted the support of the Tuskegee Institute. Since the Tuskegee Institute had a history of service to local African Americans, its participation increased the likelihood of the "success" of the experiment. In return, Tuskegee Institute received MONEY, training for its interns, and employment for its nurses. In addition, the PHS recruited black church leaders, community leaders, and plantation owners to encourage participation.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosenwald_Fund
The Rosenwald Fund was also one of the original backers of what later became the notorious Tuskegee Syphilis Study. With support from the Rosenwald Fund, an ambitious program was begun to improve the health of African-Americans in US southern states in 1928. When the Great Depression began a year later, the Rosenwald Fund was forced to remove its support. The subsequent search by the U.S. Public Health Service for "FINANCIAL SUPPORT LED THE DOCTORS TO TUSKEGEE INSTITUTE". With this CHANGED FROM A TREATMENT PROGRAM TO A MEDICAL EXPERIMENT, the Tuskegee Experiments had begun. (Kind of makes you wonder why the Institute allowed this? I'll tell you, MONEY and GREED, they have no boundaries.)

Crabapple:

I've followed this Floort for 4 days now, and it's taken all the restraint I could muster to keep from jumping in on it. This is obviously a bait Floort, and I try not to take part in those, but I have finally broken down. So if your intent was to get a reaction, and try to get a rise out of people, congratulations, it's worked.

I think Michael has said it before, and it's 100% true: If there were a Floort labeled "Black people are the bane of human existence", it wouldn't have even lasted 12 hours. I can't blame black people for it either, it's our own fault. We fall all over ourselves trying not to offend other races, and it's gotten to where we are screwing ourselves. We set ourselves up for the same type of garbage that you're over there handing out, and we have no choice but to take it. We can't say anything for fear of being labeled racists. Well, I'm tired of it. The fact that this Floort has lasted so long gives me enough reason not to feel bad about what I'm about to say.

I think after reading all of your hateful bullshit, I've just about got you pegged. I may not be correct on all of my assumptions, but I bet I'm close. Let's give it a shot.

We all have our own responsibilities to create our own lives. And you people can do one of two things: You can embrace your heritage and learn from the people of African decent that have come before you and what they've done (and we get to learn all about them every February), or you can dwell on it. It's obvious from reading your posts you've chosen the latter. You carry around a cross so that when things don't go your way, you can climb up on it and cry to the people below how unjust the world is because your skin is a different color. Pathetic. Instead of spending your time and energy in setting a positive example for future generations, you'd rather feed this never ending circle of martyrdom. You need a hobby.

I do have one question though. What "white" people are you talking about? The English? The Russians? The Irish? German? Swedish? Certainly you're not ignorant enough to think that each culture, each race, each country are exactly the same...are you? You don't think each race that happen to be lighter in skin color all get together and think of ways we can screw the black people, do you? Because seriously...that's how ridiculous this whole thing sounds. It's a big conspiracy to you people.

I truly think that most of you people don't really want equality - it wouldn't give you anything to bitch about, or rap about, or "testify" about.

What do you think? I'm willing to bet I'm at least in the ballpark.

You know I've sat and listened to stories of my friends parents ( parents not great grand parents) who are about 60 years old talk about how the FBI was needed to escort them to schools because people were throwing things at the school bus and threatening to kill them. Understand this was not so long ago, and the people who were alive then are still alive today. Some of u should ask ur grand parents or parents what America was like. It's mistifying to hear someone talk about having to walk through the back door and drink from different water fountains. Ask ur parents or grand parents what they thought of that. When u listen to history that way. It becomes something tangible and u realize that what happened happens to real people and not only on page 282 of ur history book
