Honduran military ousts president

This is something I have little knowledge about but of course I have my opinion. The way I understand what I've read the president wanted to pass a constitutional amendment so he could serve more than a 4 year term. Many opposed this even people in his own party. I think this guy was trying to do what Chavez did and become a leftist dictator. I think the preemptive ousting was to prevent a tainted vote on the amendment.

I think many South American Countries are feeling pressure from such leftists as Mr Chavez, Bolivian President Evo Morales and former Cuban leader Fidel Castro. And they use the mantra that some floorters use; that the USA is not a friendly nation and doesn't care about Latinos.

I think the US has not been a friendly nation and had abuse it's economic power to affect the countrys way of dealing with the global economy. And I don't buy into what Chavez, morales, Castro, etc have done or doing. The dislike of America is above your understanding " unless you r a big Corp. That do bussines by paying corrupt governents to make money out of the resorces of that country. Now that the bisgest dislike is all the abuse commited in the middle east for the past 20 years.
An also you have to take in conciseration that saying thinks like they are doesn't mean people dislike America ... I know the right is in the position tht "if you don't suport us you hate America" so I understand your floort uses the word dislike ( but thanks for being so civilize ... Other republican would have use the word antiamerican, communist socialist or Muslim )

Orca,
I keep asking but you never answer. Why did you leave YOUR country to come to this one if all you do is piss and moan about how "unfriendly" it is? I think I would have been smart enough to pick a country I had some respect for if I was so sick of my own toilet that I was ready to go to another country. And when I got there I sure as hell wouldn't start bashing everything they stand for just because I have a right to free speech, I'd be thankful that I had a second chance.

That's the isolationist attitude of the current conservative movement in this country. It is arrogant, misguided and not effective. That's why the Republican party is in a shambles. Ruling through fear and lack of concern is an old, tired way of thinking. Look what it did for the Romans! Thank God we threw out our wackos before they could finish destroying the country and we went the way of the Romans. Now they're floundering around blaming everyone else for the problems they caused, whining about what *might* happen if everythign goes bad in the world and praying that we get attacked by terrorists so they can proclaim "we told you so!". It is really sickening.

What an unmitigated load. I don't know about "Republicans", I couldn't care less about them but Conservatism IS having problems the world over as you insinuate. The reason? Simple, just as in the Bible and Sodom and Gomorrah, moraless liberalism has taken hold like some Ebola virus. That doesn't mean there's anything wrong with Conservatism, only that like cancer, liberalism and the moraless masses have the stage at the moment, enabled by the ignorance displayed by liberals the world over including these pages. Just remember, you won the last battle but trust me, the war is far from over. You and yours are at the stage illustrated in the Bible just prior to the fall of Sodom and Gomorrah. Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame.

Tigger and Orca may find, if they dig a little, that the military of Honduras was actually acting on a court order in ousting Zelaya.

As opposed to what is showing up in the MSM it would appear that the people of Honduras, through the military, are making a desperate attempt to PRESERVE their democracy. The current administration, in support of Zelaya - and, indirectly, of Hugo Chavez - is condoning an overthrow of the democratic process in Honduras.

Zelaya has no constitutional authority to unilaterally propose a referendum to change the constitution. The military was, it appears, entirely correct to oust him in order to preserve the soverignty of the people.

Check out this article:

Sometimes revolution is the only recourse the people have to preserve their freedom. Mr. Chavez...and Mr. Obama should pay very close attention to this situation.

Actually mike this is the first time you ask me that directly, the answer is simple. You do what you have to insure the wellbeing of your family, i dont spect you to understand, thanks to the people who build this country (immigrants) you never HAD to take such desicion. And I said HAD because if we keep going the rote of arrogance ( what rep call patriotism) you may live to see our kids do the samething I did.
Mike I don't understand why you get mad though, is not like I say things tht r not true, I have asked you repetedly to answer to anything I say and so far all you do is call upon my immigration history.
In any case I don't think your questions was well formulated. And bring to light what I've been saying, to you (right wingers) point out a mistake is hating America or "disliking" America. Admit wrong doing is a thing of real man and real patriots...
Just as a reference let me tell you something (so you see the level of culture rep are at) :
you talk to me the same way Hispanics talk to me when I tell them they should learn English.. Now the diference is that most of these people dot even now how to right their name and feel as "patriots" as rep do. These people come from the countryside and never been in a school. What's the republican excuse for so much ignorance and arrogance?

Well Orca I just had a great, detailed response to you but it got lost when I hit "add comment". What a pain in the ass!!

My point is you don't come here because your country is a mess and either break in or support those that do and think you have the right to start slamming our country. You call this country selfish and I say you have no idea what you're talking about. When was the last time YOUR country did anything for mankind, for this world?? Americans are the most generous people on Earth, willing to die so others can be free. They don't need ignorant fools coming in, breaking in and referring to America as a selfish country. You haven't been here long enough to know a dam thing about what America is made up of, that's clear by the way you talk.

The poor people you mention, I'm sorry for them. But you don't decrease ignorance by breaking into our country and supporting those that do. We help more people than your country or any country on Earth but we have to do it according to the rule of law, not according to the schedule the third world has made up to help itself to our prosperity, our EARNED prosperity. You ever wonder why Mexico doesn't have any astronauts, grand history of inventions, a great record in the progress of man kind?? What ever the reason, they don't. Don't come here and talk about how "selfish" America is. Be glad you have a place to come to since your country is apparently unsuitable, and wake up to just exactly how much America has contributed to man kind. Without America the Stalins and Hitlers of the world would be running things and you wouldn't have the freedom to spew such bilge.

The people, the judiciary and legislative branches of Honduras think the executive branch overstep it's bound attempting to change the constitution with a tainted election. So they take action and remove the President in a harmless and peaceful manner. Now such leftists as Mr Chavez, Bolivian President Evo Morales and former Cuban leader Fidel Castro are up in arms about this some threatening military action against this democracy. Aren't we all about letting countries run themselves under the law of their own? Well President Obama is taking a strong stance, unlike he did with Iran, stating;

"We believe that the coup was not legal and that President Zelaya remains the democratically elected president there," Obama said. "It would be a terrible precedent if we start moving backwards into the era in which we are seeing military coups as a means of political transition rather than democratic elections."

Obama determines that this was a coup and not a legal removal. The Honduras Supreme Court decided this action and ordered this removal under the Honduras Laws. Funny how Obama knows better.

How is it Iran can have a tainted election and Obama states;

"It is up to Iranians to make decisions about who Iran's leaders will be. We respect Iranian sovereignty and want to avoid the United States being the issue inside of Iran," Mr. Obama said.

Is Obama supporting the invasion of Honduras, a democratic country, because it might open the eyes of Americans. I think this is something we might have to do to our President. Obama is trying to change our country and constitution. Our other branches of government will have to take action, along with the backing of the people, to prevent our country from becoming something we won't recognize.

Now we're getting somewhere with this! The Washington Post has an article here:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/07/01/AR2009070103210.html

which puts responsibility for this "coup" (they still can't bring themselves to break away from the Obama administration mantra) on Zelaya.

The article DOES NOT mention that the actions of the military were ordered by the Honduran Congress and Supreme Court but the very fact that a publication that has been unabashedly pro-Obama has come out with an article decidedly critical of the Obama stance may just put this issue on the fast track to getting the attention it deserves.

Obama's true colors are finally beginning to show even to the moderate left. Perhaps this is the beginning of an awakening for the American people. The author of the article had a GREAT statement at the close:

- The gravest threat to liberty comes from elected populists who are seeking to subject the institutions of the law to their megalomaniac whims. Given that scenario, the hemisphere's response to Honduras's crisis has undermined those who are trying to prevent populism from taking the region back to the times when it was forced to choose between left-wing revolution and military dictatorships. -

Are you listening, Obama? Is any of this sounding familiar?

I just read a blurb (can't confirm the info) that Honduras has split off from the OAS. If true this is GREAT news for all those that choose self rule over over dictatorship.

The spirit of freedom may be breathing its last here in America but it seems to be growing in other places. Viva Honduras!!!
