Thin Glass vs. Thick Glass

There is a trend in the glass art industry that dictates that thin glass is beautiful glass, thick glass is ugly glass. I understand that slender art may be beautiful (and harder to blow) but it is also largely less durable and much more likely to not exist in the near future. My floort: glass is glass no matter the thickness, it's the art for art's sake that matters to me.

really? Thin glass v. Thick glass? Come on people, whatever the artist feels, the artist portrays. Stop labeling already. Isnt it enough we label everything? Where's the freedom in our lives? When "trends" dictate what we feel, we've lost it all.

Once you've dropped a few hand-blown glass pieces, you begin appreciate thick glass with solid welds. It rarely breaks. Function function function, break all of the art.

I must say I'm leaning towards Michiluz. And, you're right. It is the artists choice. And, no matter what any critics say, as long as it's art to you, it's art.
