Fox News Lies themselves into Disaster

Fox news is going to be in big trouble in 2008. By continuing the hate mongering with shows like Hannity and O-Reilly, and by continuing to be a memo-driven media control outlet, they are distancing themselves from the thinking public. You can only lie to people for so long before they catch on to you.

Gee - aren't you being a little cynical? Fox would never lie. They're 'Fair and Balanced' aren't they? They say they are and they wouldn't lie would they?

Fox News slants their news for the thinking public. They don't have an opinion, you're supposed to figure it out for yourself. The Hannity and O'Reilly programs are nothing more than what they claim to be- Opinion! If you don't agree, switch to something else. The channel is clearly designed for political junkies, but the news portion is just the news. All of the features attempt to present both sides. The truth is that Fox has more liberals working there than any other cable channel. The fact that those liberals are wrong 99% of the time just tells you what the truth is- it's what YOU believe.

'cept that they have been proven to alter the facts to make lies into stories. Any idiot who believes what they see on Fox News deserves what they get. Just search for Fox News Frank Luntz in Google if you want the whole story.

FOX news is sad. Anyone who likes that channel is sad. I know some who read this think I'm a lame-o-liberal. You're sad.

Fox does slant to the right, that is their market; while CNN slants the other way.

The problem isn't with slanting. Everyone knows they're right-wing extremists. The problem is that that same group of people claim to have higher morals yet their news station lies through their teeth to make false points in favor of the 'right' position.

Fox's claim to be Fair and balanced (and I did get Dewey's irony, by the way) is positively Orwellian. On another point, how does Betteranat know that "Fox has more liberals working there than any other cable channel"? And is there any evidence to support the assertion that "those liberals are wrong 99% of the time"? I don't think those poor outed liberaks will get very far in their journalism careers with failure rates like that...

I can not stand Bill O'Reilly. Most of the time he doesn't even know what he's talking about. But it is true that his and other shows on Fox News (and other networks) are only suggestive opinions. Basically idiots who love to hear themselves speak.

Disagree. They can keep lying and fear-mongering all they want. It seems to draw very high ratings.
"The thinking public" is not their target market.

the channel is awful. Everything from opinions to which news they report is slanted. The problem is, people are too dumb to see through it
